A uPVC door you have to lift to lock has usually dropped, so the hooks catch the keeps. That's an adjustment, and you're told so before you're charged for anything.
He replaces only what's failed.
When the handle lifts but the key won't turn, it's often just the gearbox. If the rest of the mechanism is sound, he swaps the gearbox on its own, which is a much smaller job.
Older doors get parts that actually fit.
